Italo Calvino té un conte anomenat "La Espiral". La lectura d'aquest relat va ser el punt de partida per a un treball per al IEFC. La materialització del treball van ser una sèrie de fotografies al voltant del tacte i una revista que vàrem maquetar amb les imatges disparades. Si voleu veure la revista en tot detall amplieu les imatges següents. A més de veure les imatges podreu llegir la introducció redactada per a la presentació així com la reflexió posterior final.

Moltes gràcies a tots els que vau tenir la santa paciència d'aguantar la meva falera, em vau idees i em vau fer de model per a poder retratar els vostres moments tàctils. Disculpes als que al final no vàreu sortir a la maquetació de la revista.

Es un projecte ara mateix pausat, no acabat. Encara queda molt per veure, tocar i sentir.

Italo Calvino wrote a short tale named "The Spiral". The reading of this text was the starting point of a project for the IEFC. The result of the project were a series of pictures around the concept of touch and a magazine that we designed with these images. If you want to see the magazine just click on the above images. You won't be able to understand the texts on it because they are in catalan, sorry about this.

Thanks a lot to all those who were pacient enough to bear my enthusiasm, gave me ideas and posed so I could photograph your tactile moments. My excuses to all those whose picture is not in the final layout of the magazine.

This is a project paused, not yet stopped. There is still a lot to see, touch and feel.

Del 12 de maig al 12 de juny podeu anar a veure l'exposició "Sembrant oportunitats" a la Facultat de Comunicació Blanquerna (FCB). La Facultat està al carrer Valldonzella núm. 23, al costat del CCCB i el MACBA. Aquesta exposició ha estat organitzada pel departament d'Acció Solidària Blanquerna. L'exposició està oberta al públic. Busqueu les imatges al passadís del costat del bar. Per més informació sobre com arribar-hi visiteu la pàgina de la FCB i feu clic a "informació" > "on som".

Hi podreu veure les fotografies que vaig fer aquest estiu a la ciutat d'Allahabad, mentre feia de voluntària al Centre of Non-Formal and Continuing Education. És sobretot un reportatge sobre una institució que treballa pel desenvolupament de la India més rural, la que és més vaca que tigre asiàtic.

More good news!

From the 12th May until the 12th june you can visit the exhibition "Sowing opportunities" at the Facultat de Comunicació Blanquerna (FCB). The Faculty is located at Valldonzella street, num. 23, next to the CCCB and the MACBA museums. This exhibition has been organised by the departament d'Acció Solidària Blanquerna. The exhibition is opened to the public. I know most of you won't be able to come and visit it but in case you could you should look for the images in the corrider next to the bar. For more information on how to get there check the FCB website and click on "informació" > "on som".

You will be able to see the photographs I took this summer in the city of Allahabad, while I was working as a volunteer in the Centre of Non-Formal and Continuing Education. Is mainly a reportage about an institution that works for the development of rural India, the India that is more cow than asian tiger.

Gràcies a la Marta actualment exposo les fotografies dels meus viatges a la India i Japó al Hotel Ayre Caspe, a Barcelona. Bé, més concretament, al bar del Hotel, el restaurant 3 plats. L'exposició cobreix els meus viatges de l'any 2006 i 2007. Podeu veure-la durant tot el mes de maig, al carrer Casp núm. 109, a la paret dreta del bar.

Good news! Thanks to Marta these days I am showing pictures of my travels around India and Japan in the Hotel Ayre Caspe, in Barcelona. Well, more concretely, inside the bar of the Hotel, a restaurant called 3 Plats. The exhibition covers the trips I did on the summer of 2006 and 2007. You can visit it during may, at Casp street num. 109, on the right wall of the bar.

My "kids"

Us presento els meus "nens". Eren tretze, cinc noies i vuit nois, d'edats entre els 16 i els 45 anys. La majoria eren indis però hi havia dos noies nepalís i dos birmans (de Myanmar). Jo els ensenyava anglès juntament amb un altre professor, però també convivia amb ells al Centre of Continuing and Non-Formal Education de la Allahabad Agricultural University. Jo era la Pia ma'am, english teacher, titulín al que no m'acostumaré mai.

Gent, aquí els teniu, en aquest álbum.

I want to introduce you to my "kids". They were thirteen, five girls and eight boys, aged between sixteen and 45. Most of them were indians, but two girls came from Nepal and two boys from Myanmar. I was teaching them english together with another teacher, but I was also sharing life with them in the Centre of Continuing and Non-Formal Education de la Allahabad Agricultural University. I was Pia ma'am, english teacher, a title I will never get used to.

Listening - Bow Wow Wow - Fools Rush In

Explosions in motion

El dia 24 de novembre vaig anar veure Explosions in the Sky a la sala Razmatazz. Vaig arribar tard, aquesta vegada no per la meva impuntualitat arxiconeguda, sinó perque vaig haber de fer de rescatador. Per sort aquests músics sempre van a deshora i vaig poder veure la major part del concert.

Explosions in the Sky fan una música tipus rock instrumental. Personalment m'encanta. Si voleu escoltar algun dels seus temes podeu visitar la seva web al myspace.

Faig fer quatre fotos. Aquí n'he penjat unes quantes, però si voleu veure-les totes visiteu l'album del Flickr.

Last november 24th I saw Explosions in the sky at Razmatazz in Barcelona. I was late, but this time it was not because of my well known impunctuality, but because I had to do an unexpected rescue operation. Luckily musicians are never on time and I could see most of the show.

Explosions in the Sky play something called instrumental rock. I love it personally. If you want to listen to some of their music you can visit their website at myspace.
