"Eye in the sky"
When I got to the Asian Rural Institue someone told me it was going to be difficult to take a picture without one of these... Joschka, you were right.

At ARI each of the fields had a name choosen by them. I was always happy to see this small sign near the ground, like a murmur in my own language.

El vell bus
The old bus
The old bus was standing in front of men's dormitory, like an old and forgotten guard. A fews weeks after taking this pictures it disappeared.

The old bus

Rice harvesting took place saturday 30th october. The color of the rice had been mildly from a brilliant green to yellow. Then all the community members (about 60 people) were distributed among our paddy fields with a sickle or a piece of rope. Some people cut bundles of stems while the others tied them strongly. Later on the rice was dried by hanging the bundles.

Perdoneu per la pobra explicació. Ser pagesa no es fàcil (ni senzill). Es nota oi?
Sorry about the por explanation. Being a farmer is not easy. It's obvious, ne?

I used to carry around my camera. Sometimes I would forget it in the cowshed and I grumble while going to take it back. Other times I was working in the kitchen and kept staring at the sky while washing rice, specially when the sun came after a "taifun". This photos were taken in the kitchen and the farm shop.

Kitchen is a very noisy place in the morning. After lunch it becomes calmer, and the time comes to deal with the pile of vegetals from the harvest, which must be washed and kept, listening to "beautiful day".

Irashaimase!

Note: the cow's name is Mamy. Kaeru means frog in japanese. Koinonia is the building where we meet to eat and socialize. The kitchen is also there.
